Typography Project (Ellipsis)

This was my first ever Typography project i've had to do and did actually find it quite fun.

We were split into groups of 4 and given a work, (ours Ellipsis) We were then asked to produce 2 different out comes for Part one and Part two. The constraints for part one was that we had to use A4, Black and White and the typeface Georgia.

We started of by all researching what an Ellipsis was and its usage. After pulling all our findings together we found that an Ellipsis is a specific character and that you can't just type 3 full stops for one, there is a specific code and sized gap between the dots. We also found that it's a typographic representation of an omission within a piece of text.

Here are a few examples of our idea fir part one.

This last one was the final piece we decided on for part one.

For part two we struggled slightly at first as to what aspect of an Ellipsis to show. We played around with the idea that you use an Ellipsis to finish of things for you, saying its a lazy mans way out and that you don't really need to do anything.

After this and having a tutorial we came up with the idea of having a piece of text but all of it not being completely there as you don't need to fully explain what you are trying to say if you use an Ellipsis.
